o Reading/Social Studies – We are working on goods and services. We are continuing to work on long vowels and comprehension.

o Writing – We are going to start working on finishing up our writing portfolios for the year. The students will revisit all the different genres we have taught (Narrative, Informational, and Opinion).

o Math – In math we are busy telling time. We are learning how to tell time to the hour and the half hour. Next, we move into understanding the relationship between addition and subtraction.

o Science/STEM – In science we are starting to learn about plants. We are studying the different plant parts and their jobs. The students got to plant their own lima bean or flower.

o Other – This month is first grade’s PBOM Same, Same but Different. We have been practicing a lot to make sure that everyone enjoys the show! Ask your students the meaning behind the book.
